Looking for advice

Anyone have opinions about portal software…PHP-Nuke, Slash, that sort of thing?

I played around with PhPNuke for a while; its okay. Its kindof bulky, but fairly customizable. But It seemed like you really had to have a clear conception of what you wanted to do with it if you want to use it affectively.

The nice thing is that it ports well with a phpBB and coppermine photogalleries. I think there are some other programs it ports with too. And building modules for it isn't very difficult. But, again, it seems like there are a number of sites using phpNuke that have no direction and therefore don't seem to be any good.
