Do not make the mistake of thinking that because my conclusion is the same as another person's that my reasoning is the same

Seriously annoyed right now

One of the sections I write for at Open Source Politics is the Knowledge section, which is about education and info tech. And I've been considering writing a review of the Movable Type-specific desktop clients because I much prefer being able to compose stuff offline. It's a persoanl thing.

Right now I am annoyed at myself and the software I've settled for…and yes, it is definitely settling. For various reasons I just lost a fairly significant response to a couple of points Phelps at The Everlasting Phelps raised in connection to "Where we stand."

I'll rewrite it tomorrow. I'm too pissed now.

Thanks, Natalie.

Way back when I said I found your morality more than acceptable, but I wasn't you'd find mine to be. Truth to tell, I'm still not sure.

You see the root of my views laying all around the site. I know, unquestionably, the concept of race can't be supported.

But I also know that people I care about, that can accurately be identifies by applying the inaccurate concept, don't get what they deserve, are held up as the target for "reforms" that will serve us all ill.

This all gets complex as hell. I know there's a cohort in the Black communities that would be less satisfied with "Where we stand" than folks such as yourself, or conservatives of good will. I have to be satisfied knowing I'm discussing ideas that will benefit them, whether or not they approve of the justification for the ideas.

Actually, I do believe I understand where you're coming from and why you take the positions you do. Ultimately, your goal is equality and respect for all people, same as mine. And we both agree that because this manmade construct has caused damage to many people for specific reasons, the damage has to be pointed out and corrected. We may be following different avenues -- sometimes -- but we're on the same side.
