Ha, ha. I've always thought people would lose interest in the second amendment if somebody started a group with a name like the "Hispanic National Rifle Association."
Man, that made me think of a joke, but I already have enough to explain...
You DID give me an idea for when I hit Lotto, though.
The Muslim National Rifle Association would probably be arrested as a terrorist sleeper cell. Let's just say that a Muslim showing an interest in weapons right now is a Very Bad Idea.
Anybody have actual stats on how white the NRA is?
I don't know how white they are. I don't like the views Charlton Heston, their version of Ronald Reagan, put forward on (let us say) non-gun issues…I've noticed a pattern in the race attitude-by-gun attitude grid, so it wasn't unexpected once I knew his gun views.
But as an organization, I've never heard of the NRA having a problem with ANYONE who will pay dues and vote their way. If there's not a lot of minority NRA members it's largely because minorities don't join (how's that for a tautology?).
Charlton Heston as President of the Screen Actors Guild worked with Dr. Martin Luther King to open Hollywood's technical unions.
I don't know what vote their way means. There are Republicans and Democrats on the NRA board. Roy Innis has been a board member for many years.
The NRA's web site has a Spanish language version.
The NRA's new President, Kayne Robinson, is a career police officer.
By "vote their way" I mean against anyone whowould infringe on the absolute unimpeded right to own firearms.
You do not do the NRA any favor in my eyes by associating them with Roy Innis.
