He pointed out the RNC's retraction, to wit:

WASHINGTON, Oct. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- The RNC mistakenly suggested that a recent cartoon regarding Judge Janice Brown was distributed by People For the American Way and the NAACP when in fact the cartoon in question was created and posted on Black Commentator.com in the middle of a reprint of a joint People For the American Way / NAACP press release.

Now that we acknowledge our error we hope People For the American Way and the NAACP and the 9 Democratic Presidential candidates will repudiate this offensive political cartoon.

First of all, there's hella difference between The Black Commentator, PFAW and the NAACP's sites. It reflects poorly on SOMEbody's intelligence to get them crossed up.

Secondly, I wish I had thought of the cartoon.

Third, Aaron's commentary is superior to mine.

...we hope People For the American Way and the NAACP and the 9 Democratic Presidential candidates will repudiate this offensive political cartoon. Those holy hypocrites! Why should People For the American Way, et al do that? They didn't have anything to do with it. How about the RNC repudiate the offensive Aztec policy of human sacrifice? How about the President of India repudiate the policies of Wallenstein in the 30 Years War? How about Martians repudiate...

How did the presidential candidates get into this?

After seeing people "publicly call on all Black leaders to repudiate" fill-in-the-blank, this doesn't surprise me at all.I suspect the Democratic candidates will be smarter than "all Black leaders" were for YEARS, and just ignore it.

If I had a penny for every time someone has told me that as a Muslim I need to repudiate terrorism, I would be a wealthy woman. I can guarantee that if there's some major misdeed (terrorist act, anti-Semitic remark, etc) by a Muslim in the news and I don't say anything about it on my blog there will be at least one comment posted about how bad Muslims are because of our "silence".
