Let me explain. Once the campaigns agree on an Obama-Clinton ticket, Mr. Obama calls Gov. David Paterson of New York, lays out the situation and gets an agreement that if an Obama-Clinton ticket wins, the governor appoints the former president to fill Mrs. Clinton’s Senate seat, where he would serve until 2010. He could then run in a special election for the two remaining years of the term.
Don't do me any favors.
For Senate, Clinton (Bill)

WITH Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama trying to figure out whether it would work for her to play teammate, the question keeps coming up of what to do with Bill Clinton. No White House occupant would want a restless former president hanging around.
Here’s an easy answer. Give Mr. Clinton a real job with real power, a challenging position that would be engaging, in part because it would be new.

I absolutely love the title of the post
And
I HEAR
You can't cash losers'
You can't cash losers' tickets at the winners' window.
I intend to keep repeating this mantra until Obama is formally installed as the nominee. All of these folks who think he needs to do X, Y or Z to satisfy the thwarted ambitions of the Clintonians need to say this over and over to themselves until it sinks in.
I forgot to add this point:
I forgot to add this point: to suggest that Senator Obama should cash in some of his political capital to aid the ambitions of Billary is nearly staggeringly arrogant in its assumptions and underlying sense of entitlement. Further, to suggest that Governor Patterson should cede any of his own political capital to benefit Billary is equally arrogant. (It may be my paranoia but I can't shake a sense that some portion of the impetus for Bass' piece stems from racism.)
In God's name...

Why?
Personally, I'm hoping that Sen. Clinton's race sharply and permanently weakens the DLC. I don't think even most of his supports realize the scale and sweeping implications of Obama's victory. For Obama to defeat the full hideous might of the DLC, and "capture" many of its members, is a stupendous feat that could permanently alter the political landscape.

If you're paranoid, then I'll join you, pt. Completely. I'm with you. The thought that Obama or Patterson should give up anything to them is ridiculous. And is, at its root, WHITE ENTITLEMENT. Nothing less. He beat her. He beat her, fair and square, and didn't bend any rules or try to change the game in the middle of it to suit his purpose.
MacLean, I hear you.

His basic supporters might not, but the activists do. They understand that Obama's victory is tremendous and is scaring LOT OF PEOPLE. Many of whom are just scrambling just trying to stay relevant.
I will repeat this, "You
I will repeat this, "You can't cash losers' tickets at the winners' window". And for God's sake, do not put this loser on the ticket as VP. Obama would have to watch his back unlike any other President ever has. I believe that the Clintons would do ANYTHING to get her as President. Of course, I better stop that kind of talk, I sound like Rev Wright.
This is a bit much, but my point is that Obama and Gov. Patterson earned their places, and need not feel beholding, especially to the Clintons.
"Obama would have to watch
"Obama would have to watch his back unlike any other President ever has."
Obama would be the first president with an official food taster.
