Prometheus 6

All respect and no restraint

...in which P6 makes it clear just how old he is

A couple of days ago Metafilter reported on a podcast with the music score from the original Spiderman cartoon series from the late sixties. I stashed the link in a folder I keep for such purposes. I just checked it out today. Mad cool, but this got me in trouble.

Since the music was recorded for generic purposes to be used by anybody for any project or production, the sounds do not possess Spiderman related titles. However, if you've ever had the frightening experience of watching the notorious episode Revolt in the Fifth Dimension, you likely felt that it was a psychedelic cartoon made by animators high on acid. Turns out that the title of the crazy music in that episode was, indeed, titled LSD!

I'm like, "Revolt in the Fifth Dimension? I don' remember no stinking Revolt in the Fifth Dimension!" So I follow the link and am reintroduced to it.

And that's not the worst of it. The link went to the Saturday Morning Blog, and with such an introduction I had to wander around a bit. Got to a page which was boring so I won't link it but a comment was left which mentioned Colonel Bleep.

Who?

Colonel Bleep was one of the first cartoons I remember watching on Saturday mornings. And finding it made me wonder...what else is out there? I decided to look up Dodo.

See, my daughter's mom's sister's husband's cousin was this Filipino dude nicknamed Dodo, and one drunken night I remember the cartoon and sang the theme song for everyone.

He kinda looked like Dodo, now that I see him again. The use I am about to put my address book to should be illegal...

Anyway, I'm having fun here so I hope you don't mind the lack of serious topics this morning.

Wow. I don't remember that

Wow. I don't remember that episode either. Peep how big their scanner was? How many terabytes in that pearl?

Oh-no! Oh - NO!

Hah!

I remembered the Spiderman cartoon. I was but yon wee lad, but I remembered it well!

(…I always thought Spiderman had the coolest skylines!)

This was post the Captain America, Incredible Hulk, Sub-Mariner, Iron Man cartoons from sometime in the 60’s!

The other two?

(…I am NOW afraid for my mortal soul!)

Had you not dug them up, they would have never crossed my mind again in this lifetime!

Colonel Bleep and Dodo?

I could not and WILL not watch them all the way through!

(…At least not right now!)

I’m not sure I even knew how to talk when those bad boys were being televised, but I remember watching them!

(…Dude, THAT severely hurt my brain!)

Family Clone - Well, I guess

Family Clone -

Well, I guess I really have to date myself but I can remember reading Captain America and Sub-mariner, Prince Namor, comic books long before Iron Man and Hulk appeared.

I go back to 10¢ comic book

I go back to 10¢ comic book days. 25¢ for the supersize 64 page annuals.

Marvel Animation...

PT / P6: If I have my timeline’s straight, you both have me by a few good years, so I have no doubt you guys would remember 10c comics.

(I never bought any, but I do remember seeing them for sale in used comic shops! I did cry ‘foul’ when they went from 12c to 15c!)

But just be clear, the Captain America, Incredible Hulk, Sub-Mariner, Iron Man cartoons I was referring to were all animated.

…Among the many was I think the first and last Sub-Mariner feature:
