I leave you this link to think about. And this thread is open to all...if you got something stooopit you want to say, here's your chance. It will survive at least until Dr. Who comes on tonight.

I had to choose between a comment and another post but this is a necessary link as it is the first time I've seen my judgement of literary criticism validated. Plus, it's funny.
Meeting up with Dr. Spence
Meeting up with Dr. Spence in a few hours to check it out. Let you know what I think but I thought Bale and the director nailed it last time.
I enjoyed it thoroughly
saw a midnight screening on the West Coast last night. Worth the time for sure, although I'm not sure about all that Heath Ledger Oscar talk...
I'm going to see Mamma Mia..LOL
But, I will see The Dark Knight this weekend.

It doesn't. Isms are like places, Black partisan is a compass heading.
Flawless
Wrong, Pdub. I, too, thought talk of Oscar nomination for Ledger was motivated primarily by sentimentality. But after seeing it for myself I've determined that he is definitely worthy. As a medical doctor, I noted the subtle gestures which Ledger performed which mimic the side affects of psychotropic medication. Pay closer attention to Heath's mouth. He does this thing with his lips and tongue which is the ever so mildest form of tardive dyskinesia. He affects a barely discernible slur and lisp. (You have to be searching for it like it was a heart murmur. I was taught in medical school that one doesn't listen to a murmur but rather for it.) Also recall Joker's insensitivity to pain. Even during moments of relative calm he exudes barely repressed agitation.
