I can't help but feel this will not turn out well

Clinton’s Name Will Be Put in Nomination
By Jeff Zeleny

Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton’s name will be placed into nomination at the Democratic National Convention, a symbolic move approved by the Obama campaign in an effort to soothe a lingering rift with Clinton supporters.

The decision was reached this week, according to Democratic officials, and will be announced later today. It comes after long negotiations on both sides, with many backers of Mrs. Clinton vigorously pushing for her candidacy to be validated by giving her delegates the chance to support her through a roll call vote.

For Democrats inside the convention center in Denver, as well as the television audience at home, it could create some interesting moments. After the state-by-state roll is tallied, Mrs. Clinton is expected to turn over her cache of delegates to Senator Barack Obama.

No, it will not turn out

No, it will not turn out well but, you know, it's not our problem. Clinton and her folks will not be mollified at all by this gesture.

Yup. It may be time for me

Yup. It may be time for me to turn to other things.

Yep. To paraphrase

Yep. To paraphrase "Mississippi" John Hurt, we did all we could do.

"There is no medicine to cure hatred."

Ashanti Proverb

I think the main thing it'll

I think the main thing it'll do is spark a bunch of stories along the lines of "who's won just because the super-delegates are for him" so she'll be the discarded 'woman of the people' (with mich and florida), and he'll be the Elite Illegitimate.

I also really wonder what it's actually about. It's kinda weird that a bunch of political delegates are really hurting to express their lack of fealty to someone who's about to be president and have some mad career make/break power.

Clinton (either or both) is

Clinton (either or both) is trying to maximize their position in the Democratic party. The presidential candidate has always been head of the party, even when he loses. Kerry is the first exception to that rule I remember, and it's the precedent that gives Clinton hope.

I believe Democrats will win enough of Congress to pretty much have their way. A McCain administration can still obstruct but he'd be a one-term president at best. He'd either lose his base by cooperating with Democrats or be deemed obstructive by vetoing the legislation passed by a veto-proof Congress.

I believe Clinton would rather be top-dog of the heir apparent party than second fiddle in the winning party. It's a relative well-being based judgement.

I think that your assessment

I think that your assessment of Billary is correct. What I can't quite figure out is why do they believe that the black electorate will applaud their act and ask for an encore performance. I think that if Obama loses and there is a general perception among the black electorate that his defeat was caused, in great part, by Billary and their allies in the Democratic Party, the stage becomes partially set for blacks to begin leaving the Democratic Party in droves or sitting on their hands if Billary is the nominee in 2012. Billary may represent "hard working Americans, white Americans" but they cannot recapture the White House without significant support from black voters.

pt, that's what I just posted on JJP.

The most calm and quiet folks pretty much this entire campaign have been Black folk.

We've been observing calmly as to what Obama's had to go through, and outside of the ' haters', even the 'skeptics' acknowledge what gauntlet he's had to run.

She may think she's slick, but guess who's slicker?

Black folk.

Black folk were the reason her ass didn't win in 2008.

She pulled this bullshit and thinks that we'll kiss and makeup for 2012.

Now, I might not be a lot of things, and I know I don't know everything,

But, I know Black folk.

Riddle me this, pt

Do you think WE'LL kiss and makeup by 2012?

My answer begins with HELL and ends with NO.

I'm not feeling very well

I'm not feeling very well about this, either.

And as for as 2012 is concerned. Clearly Clinton doesn't need black votes. She has her hard-working white Americans. So we'll just vote en masse for someone else, or turn en masse to a third party, and she'll be all right.

Oh? You say she actually does need black votes if she intends to win anything in 2012? Unless she comes out with Bill on Wednesday night and they do a major mea culpa, I'm with rikyrah. I just don't see black folks supporting them ever again.

"I just don't see black

"I just don't see black folks supporting them ever again."

I'm done with mea culpas. At a certain point, a termination stage is reached and apologies don't matter at all. Survivors of abusive relationships are never obligated to accept an apology from their tormentors. Never.

Well, it's not just saying

Well, it's not just saying "Sorry," but saying what they did wrong. If they would admit that, yes, their campaign was racially tinged . . . Yes, they did intend to gain white support by playing the "race card" . . . If they would admit that it wasn't Obama's fault that they lost favor in the black community, it's their own fault . . .

I mean. I understand where you're coming from, ptc, and I go back and forth myself. I just think that for America to witness the Clintons, white as they are, admitting to racism, maybe it could do something to undercut this false notion of "reverse racism." And, no, it's not about black people needing white people's validation. America is a racist nation, period. But maybe forcing the issue in this manner can help white Americans admit their wrong-doing and stop. People would stop taking white Southerners seriously when the complain about everyone thinking their racist. It could potentially help white folks understand that when they accuse Obama of being presumption, they are being racist. So then maybe, they actually can see Obama through clear lenses and not shades.

Not Enough

Now, her supporters are still saying it's not enough that she'll be officially nominated.

Of course. It's not enough

Of course. It's not enough until she actually wins the nomination.

"It's not enough until she

"It's not enough until she actually wins the nomination."

Well, if she get enough votes to win the nomination, I hope that she gets enough "hard working Americans, white Americans" to make her president because I know what this hard working black American will do with his vote.

"One of these mornings, it won't be long,
You gon' look for me and I'll be gone."

pt, amen.

amen, my Brotha.

Don't Trust Her

White people refuse to submit to truth and will do anything to bring back the "stars and bars" or the "good ol days". The world is tired of the same old bull crap that McCain and Billary are about. Kepp strife artificially stirred up as a pretext to making money.

Feed the rich international industrial complex and starve the poor worker class. The only difference is the Republicans stick you with a sandpaper condom with jalepeno and lemon juice for lube and laugh while the Democrats use KY and give you a kiss but the result is still the same they both are **** you.
