I would like to have a debate about who is in touch with reality. But they can only imply that, so they'll have to settle for the offered discussion.

The McCain campaign also promised to put Obama's ties to Tony Rezko front and center in the race now, insisting that the Illinois senator's decision to attack on the home front (heyooo!) made a discussion of his ties to the convicted real estate developer fair game.
"I've admitted it was a mistake to buy that house from a Democratic fundraiser, but nothing really untoward happened. And at least I remember I did it."

Anytime you hear such heated rhetoric from the campaigns, you can assume that the issue being debated is one where both sides want/need badly to win.
Because this is worse than Dubya's daddy not knowing how to use a grocery scanner or Bob Dole not knowing the price of a loaf of bread. You got this guy who can't say whether he thinks it's fair for medical insurance to cover Viagra and not birth control...has to have his staff get back to the reporters. Can't remember how many houses he has. Can't remember who is Sunni and who is Shia, can't remember a single position he held on Iraq before The Surge. Has constant little verbal slips and transpositions. Didn't remember wearing a flak jacket while walking around that market in Iraq...I thought he was lying but I guess he just forgot.
If I told you all this about the crotchety old guy down the block, what would you think? You might be wrong...I might be wrong. But what are the odds?

Make no mistake - Rezko's gonna send our CURRENT Governor to prison. And other Democrats AND Republicans. But, Obama was too far down on the food chain for Rezko.

What I don't get is the line of thought the attacking McCain for not even know how many houses he own opens the door to attacks on Obama about Rezko and Wright. Even if you accept that those houses are really Cindy's, it still doesn't make since.

....No-one except the highest high-information voter grasps the rezko "scandal"; this will not stick with swing voters.
....Clinton essentially shot McCain's wad for him in the primaries. There is nothing new left for the republicans to trot out. Is there anyone who doesn't know who Wright is and what he said? People have already made their minds up about him and whether or not they want to vote for Obama as a result.
....Keating 5 will not resonate with younger voters, but it may shake some older voters, especially in light of the current housing mess.
....I am looking forward to seeing Obama kick some ass, too, Chicago-style.
