P6 has been a bit quieter than normal this weekend because I've been playing with a new site design. It's got a bit more color and drama than the current design, and (this is the cool part) is a pure CSS design. No tables, and works correctly in Mozilla and IE6.

That is a very, very nice site. Very sleek. And of course, being pure CSS...well, suffice it to say, you have it on lock.

I just finished a disappointing experiment with htmlArea 3, a beta-version cross-browser wysiwyg textarea replacement.

I tried to do CSS on veiled4allah but I simply could not get it to work in both IE and Mozilla, so I went back to using tables for positioning.The new design looks pretty snazzy! :D

This looks great, yes more colorful, but it's still *you* and not garish. It's not too different from the original, but I like the layout and the top looks nicer than the original. Bravo, hope it works out in IE and mozilla (whatever that is.. moveable type? whassat? )

Al-M:I cheated to get the CSS working. There's a coupe of web sites that will generate empty cross-browser CSS layouts. I created three blanks sites: three column, and two column with the narrow one on the left and the right. Then I studied them and followed the references to see why they did what they did.After that I created a few more classes and it was good to go.

S. Scorpion:Garish was a big concern. You should have seen the first color combination I used. I woke up the next morning because the colors on the screen were louder than the alarm clock (which I have learned to ignore).You can think of Mozilla as the Netscape browser, though it's actually the other way around.

Prince:The new look should be official by the end of the month. There's a pretty significant reorganization going on in the background, and more coming. I still have some decisions to make about it--the site. See, I have a couple thoughts about what to do with my online presence (which is not specifically P6) and I'm not sure this blog is where I want to do it. The flavor of P6 would change and I kinda like it the way it is, ranting about what crosses my mind.

The only time a site design matters to me is from a low-level branding sense. I am looking forward to it if it means that you can make tables that I can read now, though.
