Children find guns at Easter egg hunt
April 11, 2004
FLINT, MICHIGAN -- A group of children hunting for Easter eggs Saturday during a church event found two loaded handguns outside an elementary school.
Flint police were called to the scene, where officers also recovered a BB gun and a broken toy gun on the grounds of Gundry Elementary School.
One of the handguns discharged when it was dropped, according to a police report, but it was unclear who dropped it.
No one was injured, Sgt. Michael Coote said.
The pastor of Ruth Street Baptist Church said one gun had a bullet in the chamber, and the other gun's clip had bullets.
