A week ago, I put up a post about a disturbing picture of an American marine playing what seemed to be a very nasty joke on two Iraqi boys, which provoked a long comment thread on the picture's authenticity. Some people thought the words on the marine's sign were photoshopped in, and some argued that there were oddities in the uniform that made it clear the man in the picture wasn't actually a marine.
In the future, I will be less inclined to accept the opinion of armchair warrior wannabes about the authenicity of military uniforms. It turns out there is indeed a Lance Corporal Boudreaux, and he is the man in the picture. The Marines are investigating the matter and considering what charges to bring.
