Saudi Arabia is strongly denying accusations that it agreed with the White House to "fine tune" oil prices before this November's presidential elections, a move that would help the economy at an opportune time for the Republicans.
"The allegation that the kingdom is manipulating the price of oil for political purposes or to affect elections is erroneous and has no basis in fact," a top Saudi foreign affairs adviser, Adel al-Jubeir, said in a statement issued in Riyadh late Monday.
