I try to be nice to sisters

…but this is the single stupidest thing ever said by a Black Conservative, possibly by any Black person at all:

I know Republicans want a larger piece of that "black vote", but I'm so glad they don't need it to win elections.

"Please suh…marginalize me some more!"

Stupid or not, it's true. I was making the point that Republicans don't have to pander or worry about the latest "black issue" or what the latest "black leader" has to say. You shouldn't take it personally. Liberals call me and what I write all kinds of names, but I don't take it personally. If I did, I may as well pack up my little blog and my little opinions and go home. But thank God I live in America, where we all are free to express our opinions, stupid or not.

And I am all for my Sisters right to speak and her opinion, but I am waiting still for a Black Conservative to explain to me why the very term is not an Oxymoron?

I don't take it personally. I'm not a Black leader, with or without sneer quotes.

Cobb, I understand. Baldilocks, I understand. DC, I understand. You, I don't.

I'm a politically conservative Christ-follower (not a Republican) who holds traditional values. My faith guides my decisions. I believe in the sanctity of marriage, that abortion is infanticide, that any form of racial discrimination is wrong and that liberalism and the accompanying permissiveness is destructive to the black community. I believe I should keep more of my hard-earned money, that blacks should be expected to compete with everyone else, that government regulations and oppressive taxes are harmful to small businesses, which tend to be black-owned. There's more, but those are some reasons why I'm conservative as opposed to liberal. I'm not a registered Repub because I don't want to be a member of either party. I consider myself an Independent Conservative.

P6, one of the great things about the Brotherhood is that we, too, are diverse in our approaches and some of our ideas. That what the marketplace is all about. When Cobb asked me to join, I knew going in how different we all were. Beyond knowing specifically what you don't understand, that's about all I can say, and I appreciate your letting me say it on the blog.

My confusion is over your pleasure in finding your cohort to be a non-factor. Being your typical self-interested human that just amazes me.

There's actually other things I don't understand about you…they're socio-political and do not of necessity derive from the precepts of Christianity…but for now I'll leave it at that. Maybe post-election.

"abortion is infanticide"? Oh brother. I am still surprised that some women still adhere to the archaic notion that women do not have rights to control their own body (yet you state in your blog that this is a free country - how free is taking the right to choose away from women?). "The prohibition against murder exists in the Bible", you noted in your blog - but the Bible also sanctioned slavery!!!

I don't understand your political position either - though from a different place and space then others here.

Perhaps this isn't the place to discuss this (sorry P6)- I am heading over to your blog to see you exercise your right to free speech, even if what you say and believe threatens the rights and freedoms of others as persons.

No need to apologize. You could even have a discussion here if you both chose to. I'm waiting because after the election there will be a brief period in which I can be seen with Conservatives without damaging either of our reputations. :->
