If I were Obama I'd be tempted to ignore Keyes entirely

In Illinois, Keyes Begins Senate Effort

Keyes, a conservative commentator, wasted little time Monday in attacking Obama, charging that his views on abortion are "the slaveholder's position."

Keyes said Obama's vote against a bill that would have outlawed a form of late-term abortion denied unborn children their equal rights. "I would still be picking cotton if the country's moral principles had not been shaped by the Declaration of Independence," Keyes said, according to the Associated Press. He said Obama "has broken and rejected those principles -- he has taken the slaveholder's position."

…Asked about the phrase "slaveholder's position," Obama said Keyes "should look to members of his own party to see if that's appropriate if he's going to use that kind of language," the AP reported.

Let me tell you something: if Keyes wrote that himself, he's an abject asshole. But it reads like some white guy who hasn't got a clue what motivates Black folks decided Keyes needs to tap Black anger. Reminds me a lot of "graveyard rap."

Graveyard rap? Can't believe you went there. lol

I think Keyes just needs as much publicity as he can get right now, should make for some "interesting" debates.

If I were Obama, my response to everything would be, "Is he from Illinois? Does he know what our issues are?"

Khandi:

You remember graveyard rap?

You poor child…

Ha ha, I thought Russell Simons started that whole grayeyard rap thing. Guess Def Jam can't always win.

Bernie:

Obama is dogging him about that already. Like Keyes claims Obama is afraid to face him because he's only having the two-three debates there's still time for instead of the six he agreed to with Ryan.

Obama's response?

"That was a limited offer to residents of Illinois."

Don't tell me the boy ain't Black when he can play the dozens like that.

Yes, Russell fucked up and started graveyard rap. I used to dog him over it until I saw someone ask him about it inb an interview. He said something like, hey I tried it...you have to try stuff to make money and I've had enough successes that things like that don't bother me. MUCH respect for that attitude.

Didn't I warn you about scarily bombastic abortion speeches from Keyes ? He's only getting warmed up P6. You'll be hearing holocaust comparisons pretty soon. This schtick BTW plays to the dissident United Republican Fund types in Illinois who have been shut out for twenty years by Thompson-Edgar-Ryan-Ryan regulars who run the GOP.

Sadly, in his calmer moments, Keyes is a bright, very well-informed, guy. He was actually an ambassador at one time and has a Ph.d

I'm voting libertarian for Senate...unless they have a nut running too.

Sadly, in his calmer moments

Having never seen one, I wouldn't know.
