Two serious questions

  1. If South Carolina has yet to "get" over the Civil War after almost a century and a half, what makes you think Black people can "get over" slavery and Jim Crow in 30-odd years?
  2. If the Republican Party is "The Party of Lincoln," what does Lindsey Graham have to get over?

If the first woman God ever made was strong enough to turn the world upside down, these women together ought to be able to turn it right side up again

Opps.. Anyways you know what.. Things like this need to be forwarded to every black congregation in america. Let the people see who their preachers are trying to get them to align with! Otherwise its okay, a fresh reality check is good for us every now and again. Just to remind us that are fight is not over!

I'm going to start writing things down about the Republicans of South Carolina and what they were doing with blackfolks during Reconstruction. It seems to me that you can't have it both ways, that is to say quote Sojourner Truth and a lot of dead abolitionists, and not talk about the history of the Republicans in their activism and support of black enfranchisement.

Perhaps you have the same video as I do: Slavery & The Making of America.

And you can't talk abot the history of Republicans in their activism and support of Black enfranchisment without discussing their abandonment of Black people, the embezzlement of their savings, the fact that every Dixiecrat became a Republican in protest of the much more recent Democratic activism and support of Black enfranchisment...

If you REALLY want to discuss history YOU ARE SCREWED.

ME: Sweety I have a degree in History I am well aware of the role "Lincolns Party" played in freeing of american blacks from chattel slavery. What I find interesting is that when addressing the contributions of Republicans to African American interest we are ALWAYS talking PRE CIVIL RIGHTS ACT OF 1964. It after that piece of legislation that the shift began thus birthing the "White Mans Party" aka the republican party.I didn't write the history thats just how it played out. Contemporary republican strategist in their attempt to game a PERMANENT MAJORITY realize they need to build constituancy within the black community. Othere than that for the last several decades the republicans have been in my opinion ANTI NEGRO
