Rep. Barney Frank did well. I was VERY pleased when he refused to let Rep. Blunt overtalk him. When he asked Russert directly if they were just going to talk over each other there was only answer any of them can make.

Hopefully this is the beginning of the deCrossfirefication of serious political discussion. It's hard to rag on the Coulters of the world when the legitimate politicians do the same thing writ small.

I wouldn't count on many other Democrats being as clear and on topic as Barney Frank. I also noticed how Russert stayed out of most of the discussion, instead of his ususal method of reading mis-quotes or out-of-context statements.

If they can't be as clear as Barney Frank they should shut da fuk up and let him talk. Democrats should find a point man for these debates.

They also need to develop the practice of calling on the moderators of such discussions to reign in the political Tourette Syndrome the Republicans use to disrupt any attempt at clarity. What will ultimately happen is Republicans will refuse to appear of the talking head shows with Democrats...which can also be used to position them.

This will require th minimization of bullshit on the part of the Democratic Party, but there's enough serious Republican issues to target that it shouldn't be a major problem.

When Frank has to get out in front, the Dems. are in trouble.

Frank discussing ethics? He who had a boyfriend living in his townhome, running a homosexual prostitution service out of it?

Not sure how that reflects Frank's ethics. If your teenager was selling drugs, should the police handcuff and arrest you? Granted, it's not a good scene but unless Frank was involved in the service, it's hard to condemn him about that.

Frank met his boyfriend because the boyfriend was a male prostitute.

And as Frank said, he's had his ethics issues like others have, but he's addressed them.

Beyond that, every word he said was true and well delivered.
