Oh, yeah

You know, the Black communities, the Children of Africa, have a long tradition of reaching back for the less fortunate among us. It goes all the way back to the Underground Railroad, all the way back to slaves buying their freedom and hanging around to buy their family's freedom, risking recapture to help others escape, giving a greater fraction of our disposable income to charity that any other self-identified group.

This is why it bothers the hell out of me to keep hearing Black Conservatives trying to convince people that tradition needs be disposed of.

At best, Black Conservatives are greedy, misguided and definitely bought and owned by their white counterparts. At worst, they are simply the enemies of Black people. The time for sugar coating is over.

I don't think I sugar coat. I recognize there's hundreds of ways a person could come to profess what Black Conservatives do…quislinghood is not a requirement.

But then I don't much care how they got into the philosophical position. If I think a position is damaging to Black people at this time, I'll oppose it. Unless the person is being blatant about sucking up I find it best to make note of it rather than make an issue of it.

Point of clarification. I was not accusing you of sugar-coating. I was speaking in general about the fact that Progressive Blacks (me, you or others) need not fear calling a "Tom" (Black Conservatives) a "Tom"
