The Dalai Lama wants the victims to show compassion? Just tell them to lift their chin and pass the straight razor, why don't you?
God, what an ass.
Dalai Lama urges victims for compassion

HAILEY, Idaho - The Dalai Lama, Tibet's spiritual leader, urged victims of the Sept. 11 attacks and Hurricane Katrina on Sunday to turn their tragedies into something that makes them stronger.
"Your sadness, your anger will not solve the problem," the 70-year old monk told a crowd of about 10,000. "More sadness, more frustration only brings more suffering for yourself."
The Dalai Lama's speech came on the fourth anniversary of the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. But he also touched on the U.S. invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq.
"Violence is unpredictable," he said. "In the case of Afghanistan, perhaps there's something positive. In Iraq, it's too early to tell."
There were some lighthearted moments as well. The Dalai Lama repeatedly poked fun at himself, and at some of the questions he was asked in an informal session following his address.
Asked what the secret to compassion was, he looked at the container he was sipping from and said: "Water. And sleep."
Perhaps by showing compassion he means to not respond to violence with violence. That sounds like a good idea to me, and the higher road. Violence only breeds violence breeds violence, etc...
