So The Daou Report linked to P6 for the first time the other day (then-que, then-que), and in the process of checking to see what they linked and what they quoted I ran across this bit of bullshit (notes added so you can

  1. avoid that shit if you want
  2. fact-check me if you want

Katrina Killed Whitey

So said the black community, its leaders, and Democrats, that the response to Hurricane Katrina was dismal because the Bush Administration ordered the hurricane machine to create a hurricane that targeted black people. Well, maybe not all said that, but some did, while others still suggest the response to Hurricane Katrina was marred by the administration's lack of concern for the black community.

Oh, and did they sing in chorus. Take, for instance, the rather eloquent and coherant words of Damu Smith, the founder of the National Black Environmental Justice Network, who in September said that the federal government "ignored us, they forgot about us ... because we look like we look." Louis Farrakhan, a most vehemently anti-white racist claimed that FEMA was unfit for the recovery because "there are not enough blacks high up in FEMA" and added that, "certainly the Red Cross is the same." And who can forget Kanye West's most articulate discourse where he uttered a familiar democratic battle cry, "George Bush doesn't care about black people." And who can forget the litany of left wing loonies and Democrats who race baited the relief effort for political gain (catalogued

here (about people blaming global warming for the intensity of Katrina),
here (about people blaming Bush for the slow reaction, with a couple of unrealted updates  and a gratuitous "Jesse Jackson continues the race baiting),
here  (saying Bush personally requested the evacuation of New Orleans),
here (about how it can't be Bush' fault),
here (which makes the bizarre claim that Bush was blamed for the failure of the levees),
here (about Louisiana's failure to plan adequatelt for the emergency),
here (about Bush escaping the blame for the Katrina debacle),
here (about suggestions to delay the hearings on Roberts Supreme Court nominations),
here (about Bush escaping the blame for the Katrina debacle),
here (reporting on hostile email the blog received over his racialized perspective),
here (where it is implied Howard Dean isn't credible because Vermont is the whitest state in the nation),
here (which opens with the undocumentable "Liberals like to suggest the Bush knew about 9/11 and didn't do anything about."),
here (which lauds the swiftness of the Federal Government's response to the Katrina disaster),
and here (in which the author's head explodes over Kanye West)

).

But hold the phone, it looks like there were more white people were dealt a more devasting blow by Hurricane Katrina.

...the state's demographic information suggests that whites in New Orleans died at a higher rate than minorities. According to the 2000 census, whites make up 28 percent of the city's population, but the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals indicates that whites constitute 36.6 percent of the storm's fatalities in the city.

African-Americans make up 67.25 percent of the population and 59.1 percent of the deceased. Other minorities constitute approximately 5 percent of the population and represented 4.3 percent of the storm's fatalities.

Overall for the state, 658 bodies have been identified. Forty-seven percent were African-American and 42 percent were Caucasian. The remaining bodies were either non-black minorities or undetermined.

An additional 247 victims have not been identified, so their demographic information has not been released. [P6: which, um, makes his whole point unsupportable]

The data showed that the majority of Katrina's victims lived in the Orleans parish. The nearby St. Bernard and Jefferson parishes had 91 and 25 victims, respectively.

The storm also did not discriminate based on gender. Fifty percent of the victims were male and 49 percent were female, with 1 percent being undetermined.

So shut up already, you race baiters.

Race-baiters, huh? Yes, you should shut up.

What is CNS News? Sounds like some subjective bullshit masquerading as a pseudoCNN - which is hardly worthy of imitation (except for marketing, of course). The website is terrible. They seem to have an agenda. This story has shredibility - not credibility.
